In a sustained effort to strengthen discipline, efficiency and service delivery in the Kogi State Civil Service, the Head of the Kogi State Civil Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, Esq., on Monday paid a surprise working visit to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, accompanied by top management members from her office.

The unscheduled visit was aimed at assessing staff presence, punctuality and overall work ethics in the ministries, especially at a time when issues of absenteeism and lateness have become prevalent across the civil service.

During the visit, Hajiya Musa expressed satisfaction with the level of staff turnout, commending officers and staff of both ministries for being present at their duty posts and demonstrating commitment to their responsibilities.

She noted that punctuality and dedication to duty remain critical pillars for building an effective and responsive civil service, stressing that productivity can only be achieved when workers are consistently available and engaged.

The Head of Service further charged the leadership of the two ministries to look inward and take deliberate steps to improve the working environment, emphasising that a conducive workplace is essential for enhancing staff morale, productivity and efficiency.

According to her, top management members must continuously explore innovative and practical ways to support their workforce, ensure proper supervision and foster a culture of accountability and excellence in public service.

Hajiya Musa, reiterated her commitment to regular monitoring and engagement with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Kogi State Civil Service for optimal performance and improved service delivery to the people of the state.
