The Kogi State Ministry of Health has commenced a capacity-building training on the Contraceptive Logistic Management System for family planning health workers across the 21 Local Government Areas. The event was inaugurated by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Steven Momoh Aziz, on behalf of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams.
In his opening remarks, the Honorable Commissioner emphasized the Kogi State Government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the supply chain for family planning commodities, improving data quality, and ensuring the continuous availability of essential reproductive health supplies to the community.
He highlighted that a reliable contraceptive logistics system is fundamental to effective family planning programs. When commodities are readily available, accessible, and efficiently managed, it empowers individuals to make informed reproductive health decisions, ultimately contributing to reduced maternal mortality and improved health outcomes in the state.
The Permanent Secretary called upon all stakeholders to collaborate towards a future where every woman in Kogi State has timely, safe, and uninterrupted access to family planning services.
He encouraged participants to fully engage with the training, noting that the knowledge and skills acquired will directly enhance reporting, improve stock management, and reduce stock-out rates across the LGAs. He acknowledged the participants as key agents of change at the grassroots level and expressed the Ministry’s reliance on their professionalism and dedication.
