Kogi Deputy Governor, His Excellency Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, has reiterated the State Government’s unwavering dedication to the growth and development of the Igala Kingdom under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In a meeting with Igala community Traditional Rulers in Lokoja, Elder Oyibo emphasized the Governor’s deep respect for the Igala nation, highlighting the appointment of key positions, such as six commissioners and the deputy governorship, to individuals of Igala origin.

Despite the State Government’s efforts to uplift the Igala nation, Elder Oyibo acknowledged that resources have been misused by some individuals who have then turned against the government. He commended Governor Ododo as a visionary leader committed to alleviating the state’s challenges, pointing out improvements in salary and pension disbursements, as well as ongoing infrastructural projects.

The Deputy Governor called for unity among Igala residents in Lokoja, emphasizing the Governor’s support for the upcoming Igala Day celebration. He advised Traditional Rulers against engaging in tribal politics, emphasizing that leadership can emerge from any tribe.

Comrade Joel also recognized the Governor’s generosity in forgiving the zone for its lack of support in the last election, urging unity for the current administration’s success. He urged leaders to provide unwavering support for Governor Ododo’s government.

Traditional rulers, including Chief Joseph Akpa and Chief Ahmodu Momoh, expressed gratitude to both the Governor and his Deputy for their commendable work. They pledged steadfast support for the government’s success and encouraged continued efforts to enhance the lives of the people.
