The Kogi State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has recognized the outstanding performance of six Information Officers through the Ministry of Information and Communications.

These officers were awarded for their exceptional work in writing and submitting articles and Press Releases that highlight the activities and policies of the Government through their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The winners of the Essay/Article Writing category are as follows:
1st Position – Mrs. Princess Funsho Sumonu
2nd Position – Mr. Shuaib Abubakar
3rd Position – Mrs. Jumoke Ajani

The recipients of the awards for Writing and Submission of Press Releases for the month of June are:
1st Position – Mrs. Mariam Adams Teni
2nd Position – Mr. Odofin Philip
3rd Position – Mr. Segun Adegboyega

The Cash Prizes were presented by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, in his office in Lokoja while hosting the State Information Officers.

Hon. Fanwo emphasized Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s unwavering support and commitment to the development of the ministry and all sectors in the state.

He announced that the award would be given every month to the top three performers who would write and submit press releases on the government’s activities and policies.

Hon. Fanwo stressed that the winners would be judged based on their reports’ quality, not quantity. He encouraged information officers to be diligent, meticulous, and committed to their daily activities within their respective MDAs.

In a report delivered by the Director of Information Services, Mr. Sunday Adeniyi, he commended the Commissioner for his dedication to the welfare of all Ministry staff and for implementing commendable programs that allow Information Officers to showcase the achievements of the Governors in their MDAs.

These initiatives, he said, have allowed Information Officers to gather the accomplishments of Governors in their respective MDAs, which have been compiled into magazines and described Honourable Fanwo as a dedicated, hardworking, wise, enthusiastic, charismatic, and practical leader worthy of admiration.

In her expression of gratitude on behalf of the recipients, Princess Funsho Sumonu thanked His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and Honorable Kingsley Fanwo for their unwavering support and for establishing a program to recognize outstanding officers.

She emphasized that this program will inspire more remarkable dedication among the officers and assured that they will continue to be diligent and committed to fulfilling their official responsibilities within their respective MDAs.
