Students of Kogi State origin in higher Institutions across the Country who registered for 2024 State Government Bursary Award have been assured of the State Government commitment in ensuring that all students who completed their online registration and verified are paid their allowances.

Kogi State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB made this known when he received the Executive of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) led by the National President Dr. Jeremiah Elukpo in his office on Friday in Lokoja.

The Commissioner said the Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has Education as number one priority and would make sure that all the students of the State in Higher Institutions across the country feel the impact of the Government, saying that all those that applied for 2024 State Government Bursary Allowance would be paid after the ongoing verification exercise.

Hon. Jones who allayed the fear of the students that some students might be left out of the program said everyone who completed the online registration would received his/her entitlement after Verification Exercise.

He stated that Government was putting every dot in place to ensure that the right people benefit from the State Government gesture, adding that the State Government was verifying the 10,200 Students who applied and completed their 2024 Bursary Allowance Registration online.

In his remarks, the National President of Kogi State Students Association (NAKOSS) Dr. Jeremiah Elukpo said they were in the office to get first hand information about the scheme, saying that NAkOSS was worried that some students might be left out of the Scheme.

The President who thanked the Governor for reviving the Bursary Allowance, said NAkOSS would ensure that the program was successful and everyone who applied would get his/her allowance.

He congratulated the Commissioner for the success stories the Ministry has recorded under his leadership and assured that the Association to would work with the Ministry whenever the service is needed.
