…directs Provision of BP and Blood Sugar Testing Kits for Information Officers
The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo has charged Information Officers in the state to take their health and overall well-being seriously, emphasizing that good health is critical to effective service delivery.
Fanwo gave the charge on Tuesday during the Monthly Ododo Media Awards held at the Ministry, noting that a healthy workforce is a more productive one.
“As we go about our assignment of projecting the giant strides of the Ododo Administration, I urge you all to take your health seriously. No one is indispensable; the system will continue to function regardless of what happens to anyone. Let us, therefore, look after ourselves and prioritize issues that concern our health,” he said.
The Commissioner also directed the Permanent Secretary to provide Blood Pressure (BP) Testing Kits and Blood Sugar Testing Kits to all Information Officers under the Ministry. He urged the officers to be “deliberate and intentional about their health.”
Fanwo commended the officers for their dedication and professionalism in communicating the achievements of the Ododo administration, stressing that “Kogi is on the right track with Ododo.”
“You are all doing a great job. We have a Governor who is committed to good governance and genuinely serving the people. He is providing infrastructure to stimulate growth and development across all sectors of the economy,” he stated.
The Commissioner added that Governor Ododo’s leadership style and close connection with the people have unsettled the opposition in the state.
“Whenever the Governor steps out to interact with the people, the opposition knows they have lost the battle. The people of Kogi are happy with their Governor. During his recent visit to Kabba/Bunu, the hidden opposition became jittery when they saw the tangible achievements and projects already impacting the people. These are no ‘audio projects’, they are real and already serving the people,” he said.
He reaffirmed that the administration will remain focused on governance and service delivery rather than distractions.
“The Governor has said his projects are his noise. We won’t be distracted. This is not the time for politics. The people deserve the development they are witnessing,” he concluded.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving Information Officers.
The October 2025 awardees were:
First Position: Mr. Bayode Taiye
Second Position: Mr. James Sanni
Third Position: Mrs. Aisha Yusuf
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Celestine Idoko, mni, commended the Commissioner for initiating the awards program, describing it as a laudable effort to motivate and reward outstanding officers for their commitment and performance.
