The Kogi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development announces the arrest of six suspects in connection with the sexual exploitation and repeated abuse of a 15-year-old girl.

The Honourable Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, while addressing officials of the Ministry at the State Police Headquarters, assured that thorough investigations are ongoing and that all perpetrators will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

In a related statement, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Momoh, has strongly condemned the circulation of identifying images and videos of the minor, directing that such materials be immediately taken down from all media platforms. She emphasized that public dissemination of such content undermines the dignity and recovery of the survivor and may hinder her successful reintegration into society.

Speaking from her office, the Honourable Commissioner said:

> “Everyone must play a role in the advocacy for justice and social development. It is important for the public to understand that any sexual relationship with a person under the age of 18 is a criminal offense, punishable under the penal laws of the State.”

The arrests were made in collaboration with security agencies across various locations in Kogi State, including Obajana, Okene, and Lokoja.

The Ministry reiterates its commitment to ensuring justice for survivors of abuse and urges the public to support efforts to protect the rights and dignity of children across the state.
