The second edition of the Kogi State Aerobic Exercise organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development held today at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, attracting a large turnout of civil servants, youth groups, and fitness enthusiasts from across the state.

The Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah Evinemi, who participated in the exercise, commended the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development for sustaining the laudable initiative aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of the state workforce.

Dr. Evinemi noted that the aerobic exercise, which has now become a regular fitness event, demonstrates the administration’s commitment to building a strong and productive civil service. He emphasized that continuous participation in such physical fitness routines will help improve the mental alertness, energy levels, and overall efficiency of workers in service delivery.
He further appreciated the impressive turnout of civil servants at the event, describing it as a clear reflection of their enthusiasm and willingness to embrace a healthy lifestyle. According to him, the exercise will continue to serve as a unifying platform that fosters teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie among workers across various ministries and agencies.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development,Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe commended civil servants for their active participation, reiterating the ministry’s commitment to making the aerobic exercise a continuous and statewide activity.
He remarked that “a healthy civil service is a wealthy society”, stressing that a sound mind and a healthy body are essential for effective service delivery.

The Commissioner encouraged workers to take personal responsibility for their health through regular exercise, balanced diet, and adequate rest, noting that a healthy workforce translates to a more vibrant and prosperous Kogi State.

The aerobic exercise featured light jogging, stretching, and dance fitness sessions, leaving participants refreshed and motivated.
