New Corps members posted to Kogi state have been charged to contribute positively to the growth of Kogi State and respect constituted authority during and after their service year.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo gave the charge in a message to the swearing in of the BATCH ‘C” corps members posted to the state for their National Service at Asaya camp in Kabba Local Government Area.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo advised the Corps members to be patriotic, committed and dedicated during and after their service year in Kogi State towards building and enhancing National unity and growth.

The Governor said the NYSC scheme has specific objectives, stressing that the dreams of its founding fathers which essentially was to promote unity, understanding, integration and harmonious relationship among the diverse ethnic groups in Nigeria must be realized.

The Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Maji Enoch advised them to eschew all forms of negative acts such as Cultism, Drug Abuse and Drunkenness, urging them to ensure a hitch free orientation course in Kogi State.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo said Government would take their security and welfare as a priority and assured of government’s continued commitment to youth development.

He advised them to be passionate about skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme, SAED, which is designed to train and prepare them for economic independence during and after their service year.

Governor Ododo Congratulated them on their successful completion of their education at that level and welcome them to Kogi state, the confluence of opportunities.

In his speech, the Kogi State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mr. Femi Osungbohun told the Corps members to be guided by the rules and regulations at the camp.

Mr. Femi Osungbohun said the camp authority will not tolerate indiscipline from any of them and warned against any forms of misconduct.
