In an attempt to significantly reduce the cost of transportation, Kogi State Ministry of Transportation has inaugurated fifty CNG tricycles donated by the Federal Government.
Inaugurating the fifty CNG tricycles at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja, the Hon. Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Atuluku Victor Levi said the offer by the Federal Government demonstrates government’s genuine commitment to making live better for the people.
“The Renewed Hope Initiative of the incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is highly applaudable”, he stated.

described the epoch making event as a Sterling accomplishment that depicts a significant step in ongoing efforts of the Federal Government to lower transportation costs, promote cleaner energy alternatives and advance environmental sustainability in the region.
The Commissioner extolled the lofty policies of the current administration, stressing that the initiative will positively impact on Kogi people and Nigerians at large.
He reiterated the unwavering commitment of the State Government under the Chief Servant, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in the transportation sector, noting that under current administration, the sector has witnessed several accomplishments that meaningfully impacts on the lives of the people of the state.
He felicitated with the National Commercial Tricycle/Motorcycle Owners/Riders Association (NACTOMORAS) and other relevant stakeholders on the realization of the initiative and called on the beneficiaries to work and justify the laudable initiative.
In his address, Chairman National Commercial Tricycle/Motorcycle Owners/Riders Association, (NACTOMORAS) Hon. Amos Onuche Isah stated that the donation of the CNG Powered Tricycles is a deliberate policy to bolster the harsh effects of subsidy removal, reduce transportation cost and promote the use of cleaner eco-friendly energy in Kogi State.
He stated that they were proud to be among the early beneficiaries of the visionary project, stressing that the tricycles will not only create jobs but also improve the livelihood of thousands of families who depend on commercial tricycle and motorcycle operations for their daily sustenance.
He commended the visionary leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and concerted effort of Kogi State Ministry of Transportation for their utmost support and for creating an enabling environment for the initiative to take root in Kogi State.
He reaffirmed that NACTOMORAS will continue to work in harmony with all relevant agencies to maintain order, safety and orderliness on our roads.
“This initiative is the beginning of greater things to come, together we will drive Kogi State towards progress, prosperity and environmental friendliness”, the Commissioner added.
In their good will messages, the representatives of Kogi State Government, Commissioner of Police, Maigari of Lokoja, Chairmen of Tricycles Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria and other Sister unions all applauded initiative of the federal government and sought for more of its kind.
