The Kogi State Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu, has assured the Nigeria Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Kogi State Chapter, of the government’s readiness to work closely with the association in addressing challenges faced by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the state.

Welcoming the newly constituted caretaker committee of NASSI during a courtesy and advocacy visit to his office in Lokoja, the Commissioner said: “We cannot do it alone; your partnership is vital.

I welcome you as the new leadership of NASSI and assure you that my doors remain open for collaboration.

By the grace of God and with the support of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, we will overcome the challenges and ensure Kogi State becomes a hub for industrial and commercial growth.”

He encouraged the association to remain steadfast in their mission, adding that the state government is already engaging international investors to strengthen industrial development and create more opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

Earlier, Prince Patrick D. Ola-Oni, Chairman of NASSI Kogi Chapter, commended the Ododo-led administration for prioritizing commerce, entrepreneurship, and industrialization through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Patrick stressed that MSMEs remain the backbone of the economy, driving innovation, job creation, and productivity.

In his words: “We wish to state categorically our readiness to work in strategic alliance with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to strengthen and scale up the competitiveness of MSMEs across Kogi State.

We will provide quality service delivery, advocacy, capacity building, and facilitate access to finance, technology, and markets.

As we believe that your Ministry’s vision for industrial development cannot be fully realized without an empowered and well-coordinated MSME ecosystem.”

Prince Ola-Oni further pledged the association’s readiness to complement and strengthen government efforts in translating policies into tangible outcomes for the people of Kogi State.

The visit reaffirmed the shared vision of the Ododo-led administration and NASSI to accelerate industrial growth and empower entrepreneurs across Kogi State.
