In a bid to promote quick service delivery, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has launched the Governance Delivery Unit (GDU), a pioneering initiative aimed at transforming Kogi State’s governance structure.
The GDU which was launched in Lokoja the Kogi State capital is designed to focus on several priority areas, including Strategic Planning and Prioritization, Performance Management and Monitoring, Project Management and Coordination, Problem Solving and Issue Resolution, Reporting and Accountability, Stakeholder Engagement and Communication, Capacity Building and Training, Innovation and Improvement, Data Analysis and Evidence-Based Decision Making, Resource Mobilization and Allocation, and Policy and Program Evaluation.
According to Amb. Olusiji Aina, Ph.D., Coordinator of the GDU, “Posterity will indeed remember His Excellency for fostering a governance structure that will resonate through generations to come.”
The GDU’s establishment is a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to excellence and resilience in governance. With the support of renowned partners like PWC, the state is poised for unprecedented growth and development.
The stakeholders’ meeting, which declared the GDU open, brought together top government officials, including the Commissioner for Finance, Auditor-General, Chief Economic Adviser, permanent secretaries, Special Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants.
The GDU will work tirelessly to ensure the ambitions of the 32-year developmental agenda are met. All stakeholders are invited to join hands in building a better future for Kogi State.
