 
 
The first phase of Kogi State Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN1.0) held her Sustainability and Stakeholders Workshop at Royal Raftana Hotel in Zango Daji, Adavi LGA. With a call to participants to draw from the objectives of the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project and leverage on the insights to maximize their impact.
The event was to showcase the state’s commitment to improving nutrition outcomes for its citizens, particularly women and children.
The project, supported by the World Bank, tends to increase the utilization of quality, cost-effective nutrition services for the vulnerable population.
Given Kogi State’s impressive performance in the ANRiN project, emerging as the best-performing state in community-based nutrition service delivery, the ANRiN SPHCDA also focused on replicating successful approaches in the PHCs implementation and sharing best practices with other LGAs across the State.
Speaking during the event, the Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Health care Development Agency, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa urged participants to be more focused on their various works and advised them to come up with a plan to sustain the gains from ANRiN 1.0
According to him, there was need to develop a plan to ensure the project’s continuity and sustainability beyond its initial phase.
The Executive Director who was represented by the Director Nutrition Department, Alhaji Ibrahim Isah Yabagi emphasized the need for a multisectorial approach to improve maternal, infant and child Nutrition.
Also speaking, the state Nutrition Officer (SNO), Usman Abdulazeez said the ANRiN project has made significant strides in improving nutrition outcomes in Kogi State stressing that the sustainability and stakeholders meeting is a crucial step towards ensuring the project’s long-term impact.
Among the participants are the 21 Director PHCs, 21 Nutrition Focal Persons with their M &Es and Stakeholders from both the ministry of health and the KSPHCDA staff.
The second phase of the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRIN2.0) is expected to commence soon.
