Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, received a slew of condolence visits today following the passing of his beloved father Pa Ahmed Momohsani. Notable dignitaries and friends who paid their respects include Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State, who came to Lokoja to offer his heartfelt condolences to Governor Ododo and his family.

Governor Ododo also hosted Senator Sunday Karimi of Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho of Kogi East Senatorial District, and Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, who all came to commiserate with him. Additionally, the Governor received Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, a business mogul and founder of Mangal Cement Industry.

During his visit, Governor Okpebholo expressed his sympathy and prayed for Governor Ododo’s strength during this difficult time. “I have come to see my brother who lost his Dad. My prayer is that God should give him the heart to bear his loss. My sympathy goes to the people of Kogi State because they have lost a great man. The deceased has a lot of potentials and wisdom that he has inculcated into his son, the Executive Governor of Kogi State. May the soul of our father rest in peace,” he said.

The visits demonstrate the high esteem in which Governor Ododo is held by his peers and friends, and the solidarity they have shown during this trying time.
