State Government appointees from Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State met on Sunday to strategize on massive mobilization for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), in line with the directive of the State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The meeting, held at the residence of the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, had in attendance Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Local Government Special Assistants to the Governor, and Ward Special Assistants to the Governor. Also present were appointees from various Boards, Agencies, and Commissions representing Mopamuro.
Welcoming participants to the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cultural Integration (Kogi West), Hon. Moses David Sunday, commended the officials for their commitment to ensuring that Mopamuro records impressive turnout figures in the ongoing voter registration exercise. He emphasized the importance of massive grassroots mobilization to ensure that the voices of the people are heard through the ballot.
In his remarks, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo urged all government officials to remain in their respective wards and intensify efforts to mobilize eligible residents. He stressed that Mopamuro must “record and retain important political relevance” through a strong voter base.
A committee was constituted to coordinate the mobilization efforts for the CVR. Hon. Moses David Sunday was appointed as Chairman of the Committee, while Hon. Obasun Samuel will serve as Secretary.
Other members of the Committee include Hon. Temitope Ajayi, Hon. Steve Iwalaye, Hon. Elvis Abereoran, Hon. Olasunmole Fatobi, Hon. Ishola Sunday, Hon. Dennis Komolafe, Hon. Mercy Obajemu, Hon. Olu Ansewo, among others.
The Committee has expressed its readiness to mobilize every eligible resident of Mopamuro to participate in the voter registration exercise, reinforcing the local government’s commitment to active civic engagement and electoral participation.
