The Kogi State Security Trust Fund (KGSSTF) has presented a patrol vehicle to the Asawa Security Outfit as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening grassroots security and enhancing rapid response across communities in the state.
The presentation, which took place at the State Secretariat Complex in Lokoja, underscores KGSSTF’s strategic support for community-based security initiatives aimed at complementing conventional and non-conventional security agencies. The patrol vehicle is expected to improve mobility, surveillance, and timely intervention by the Asawa Security Outfit, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman, Kogi State Security Trust Fund, AVM Omeiza Umar ( rtd) , represented by the Internal Auditor, Mr Benjamin Adejoh, emphasized that the gesture aligns with the Fund’s mandate to mobilize resources and provide critical logistics that enhance security operations statewide. He noted that community security outfits play a vital role in intelligence gathering and crime prevention, adding that equipping them adequately is essential to achieving sustainable peace and safety.
“The provision of this patrol vehicle is a clear demonstration of our resolve to support credible security partners at the community level. When our communities are secure, the state is secure,” the Chairman said.
He further charged the Asawa Security Outfit to ensure the judicious use and proper maintenance of the vehicle, stressing that accountability and professionalism remain key expectations of all beneficiaries of KGSSTF support.
In his response, the Executive Chairman Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, expressed profound appreciation to KGSSTF for the timely intervention, describing the patrol vehicle as a significant boost to their operational capacity. He reaffirmed the commitment of Asawa Security Outfit to working closely with other security agencies and stakeholders to safeguard lives and property.
The Kogi State Security Trust Fund reiterated its commitment to sustained collaboration with security agencies, community outfits, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals to enhance security infrastructure and promote a safer Kogi State for all.
