The people of Ayetoro-Gbede, led by His Royal Majesty Oba Adewunmi Sunday, Ologe1 the Olu of Ayetoro-gbe, today 22-10-2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, at the Government House in Lokoja. The delegation expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for honoring their invitation to attend the coronation ceremony of their revered monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba Adewomi Sunday, Ologe1, the Olu of Ayetoro-Gbede.

During the visit, High Chief S.O. Arowosafe, spokesperson for the Ayetoro-Gbede delegation, thanked the Governor for attending the coronation ceremony, saying, “We are here this morning to thank you for the good people of Ayetoro-gbe. We are appreciating you for attending the coronation of our Majesty.” He also commended the Governor for appointing their Son, Hon. Sunday Faleke as the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.

His Royal Majesty Oba Adewunmi Sunday, also expressed his appreciation to the Governor, saying, “We appreciate you because you have done so much for us. We promise loyalty and support.” He requested the construction of a befitting palace for the Olu of Ayetoro-Gbede, the continuation of the construction of 10-kilometer Ayetoro-gbede township road and the rehabilitation of the General Hospital.

In response, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo assured the delegation that their requests would be addressed. “The work of the Traditional Rulers is to guide their people,” he said. “On your requests, I don’t see them as requests but as our statutory responsibility.” He assured the delegation that the construction of the township road would resume during the dry season and directed the Commissioners for Health and Works to assess dilapidations level of the General Hospital immediately.

On security, the Governor promised to meet with stakeholders to discuss ways to improve security in the area. He also noted that he would meet with Business Tycoon operating around the region to discuss modalities to make the land of Ayetoro-Gbede better for the people.

The Governor urged the traditional rulers to guide and support his administration, saying, “We urge you to guide and support us.” He appreciated the gifts brought by the delegation, saying, “I appreciate you for the gifts you brought. I see it as a message.”

The visit further strengthened the bond between the government and the people of Ayetoro-Gbede, showcasing the Governor’s dedication to fostering unity and progress in the state.

The commissioner of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Hon. Sunday Faleke thanked the Governor for receiving his people. He also appreciated the Governor for tackling insecurity in the Kogi western senatorial Districts.
