The State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones has promised the Zion Global Educational Services Limited of the preparedness of the Ministry to collaborate with the organization for the successful 2026 Spelling Bee Competition in the State.

He made this known when the Director and Founder of Zion Global Educational Services limited Miss. Ihiabe Glory Ojimaojo paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday in Lokoja.

The Commissioner said that the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is fully committed to the improvement of the quality of education in the State.

According to the Commissioner the State Government has invested so much in Education in order to ensure that children of school going age in the State have access to not just quality Education but accessible and affordable education.

The Commissioner stated that the State Government policies in education are driven by the Governor’s vision to ensure the reduction of poverty in the State, saying that the 30% of the State Budget allocation to education, the State Free Education Policy, Payment of all internal and external examinations fees for pupils and students in public schools have drastically reduced the out of school children in the State.

He noted that having a healthy quiz competition amongst students in Kogi State is a welcome development and promised that the Ministry will key into the program.

In her address, the Director and Founder of Zion Global Educational Services Limited Miss. Ihiabe Glory Ojimaojo informed the Commissioner that the First Session of the Competition will take place in April while the Grand Finale will come up on the 9th of May , 2026.

The Competition according to her will involve Students Public Schools in the State

She added that the Competition will improve literacy, rewards diligence and protect Kogi State Educational tapestry and it’s inclusiveness.
