The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo today Thursday paid a condolence visit to the bereaved families of the victims of a tragic motor accident that occurred along the Lokoja-Okene road, claiming six lives and leaving 13 others injured.
The accident involved a bus carrying participants returning from the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebration at the Government House, Lokoja.
During his visit, Governor Ododo expressed profound sorrow and regret over the tragic incident, directing the State Government to take full responsibility for the medical care of all injured persons until they fully recover.
The Kogi State Government has described the incident as a “profound tragedy” and has extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
The people of Kogi State join the government in mourning the loss of these precious lives, and pray for the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
According to one of the sympathisers, Mr Nelson Fanwo, in his words “I sympathize with all Kogites, the people of the Central Senatorial Districts and particularly the families of the deceased over the tragic death of our people ” he said. He further prayed for the repose of their souls.
Nelson who also prayed for healing and quick recovery the hospitalised also warmed drivers with care in this festive period.
