The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, has commended the ongoing three-day leadership and capacity-building training for officials of the Kogi State Government, describing it as a strategic platform for strengthening the implementation of the State’s 32-Year Development Plan.
Speaking at the training organised by the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with Safegate Consulting Limited at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, the Commissioner said the programme has exposed participants to rich insights from some of the best technocrats and development experts in the country.
According to him, the sessions have been “quite enriching,” enabling government officials to better understand the long-term vision of the State and the practical steps required to transform Kogi’s potential into sustainable economic growth.
Hon. Fanwo noted, “We have been able to get ourselves abreast of the 32-Year Development Plan of our government. We have enjoyed the benefit of listening to best-in-class technocrats who are helping us understand what is required to drive the process. This is a very wonderful initiative that is helping us push the 32-Year Development Plan forward.”
Commending the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning for spearheading the initiative, the Commissioner stated that the training is broadening the mindset of participants and strengthening their capacity to deliver on the government’s development priorities.
Speaking further, Hon. Fanwo said “We hope to continue with this so that we keep opening our eyes to the great potential our state holds. We are moving from potentials to reality, and we are very hopeful that this programme will be truly impactful.”
When asked what citizens should expect as the training progresses, Hon. Fanwo affirmed that the State Government is focused on delivering concrete results, not mere discussions.
“People should expect more development because here we are not just talking stories and grammar we are talking practical steps. This training is about what we need to do to move our state forward. It will benefit our state, benefit our people, and help us push the frontiers of development.”
He reiterated that the Ododo-led administration remains committed to equipping public servants with the knowledge, capacity, and strategic orientation needed to drive reforms, accelerate development, and improve the overall quality of governance.
