
The Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa says the push towards digitization is part of a wider effort to revitalize the PHCs oversight function at all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
Dr Muazu Omeiza Musa stated this at a training for digitization of PHC-Financial Management System (FMS) for all the Local Government Health Authority (LGHA) Team members in 7 clusters across the state.
Each cluster for the LGHA level training consist of the Director PHC, the LGA M&E officer, the LGA Accountant, the LGA National Health Fellow and the LGA Performance and Financial Management Officers
The Executive Director urged them to focus on leveraging digital tools to improve the financial Management systems in their various Local Government Areas stressing that the use of electronic technology, such as the financial Management App and weblink is imperative for improving the oversight function of the LGHA.
He advised them to adapt to the new systems to ensure accurate, accessible and fast data noting that this will ensure more accurate and real-time health financial data, which is crucial for data-driven decision-making, transparency, and better resource allocation at both state and local levels.
Speaking during the training, the Local Government Health Authority (LGHA) Team members for Kogi, Lokoja and Ajaokuta noted that the training was timely.
The trainees, Musa MAMOUD, NHMIS from Kogi Local Government, Mohammad Bochi Umar, HOD Health, from Lokoja local government Area and Ahmed Abibat Ere, HIM SO from Ajaokuta Local Government Area, all commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Executive Director of the Agency, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa for the initiative, promising to replicate same in their various domain.
