In continuation of assessment of the ongoing Integrated Vaccination Campaign across the state, the Executive Director, Kogi state Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Doctor Muazu Omeiza Musa paid an unscheduled visit to the West and Central Senatorial Districts.

 

His first point of call was the Palace of the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, where the Executive Director appealed to parents to allow the vaccination of their wards.

 

The Executive Director commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for flagging off the campaign describing him as a governor who does not take lightly issues affecting the health sector.

 

Doctor Muazu Omeiza Musa assured the Royal father of the Agency’s commitment to ensuring an exercise that is free of any form of negativity and called for concerted effort at making the immunisation programme a success.

 

While commending the the royal father for his contributions to the success of health programmes in the state, the Executive Director noted that the measles repeller programme needed to be sustained as well as Strengthen the routine immunisation for total eradication to achieve set goals.

 

Earlier, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi assured the Executive Director of his commitment towards the exercise and promised to see to it’s success.

 

At the Palace of the Ohinoyi of Ibira, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ahmed Tijani Mohammed Anaje, the Executive Director urged the people of the area to continue to cooperate with the nurses for a free and fair exercise.

 

The Executive Director called on parents to see the exercise as one tailored towards the well-being of their children as it will stop the transfer of the disease from one child to another.

 

At the Federal Government Girls’ Secondary School, Kabba, Al-Hilal Islamic Group of schools and Darul-Arqam High School both in Okene, the Executive Director resolved all issues on non-compliance to accepting the vaccines.

 

The Executive Director was accompanied on the visit by the Ohiegba-Mozum and focal person for SFPL, His Royal highness, Khalid Bukar and the Sultan Foundation focal person, Acheku Yusuf. The exercise which is expected to end today is expected to have it’s mop-up on the sixteenth and seventeenth of this month.
