The Kogi State Government on Thursday, unveiled a comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem aimed at strengthening the economic foundation for sustainable development.

This initiative was highlighted during the Kogi State MSME and Financial Inclusion Conference 2025, held at the Government House in Lokoja.

Declaring the conference open on behalf of Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu emphasized the critical role of enterprising youths in driving the state’s economic transformation.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to turning aspirations into tangible outcomes, particularly by fostering the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a pillar of economic development.

Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s collaboration with banks, microfinance institutions, and financial technology firms to ensure affordable and innovative financial services reach all parts of the state.

He urged beneficiaries to seize the available opportunities to improve their livelihoods and create employment.

Speaking at the event, *Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu* , Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, commended *Governor Ododo* for issuing 10,000 free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) certificates to small-scale business registrants in the state.

He noted that this initiative would significantly enhance financial inclusion and position Kogi as a rising economic hub.

“The government is committed to supporting small businesses by providing an enabling environment for them to thrive.

“MSMEs serve as a bridge between the people and the government, and our responsibility remains to ensure they not only survive but expand their horizons,” Hon. Shuaibu stated.

He further assured stakeholders that the government will continue its efforts to help small businesses reach their full potential, recognizing their vital role in shaping Kogi’s economic landscape.

The Kogi MSME Financial Inclusion Conference 2025 marks a pivotal step in the administration’s broader vision to unlock economic opportunities, empower entrepreneurs, and drive sustainable development across the state.
