Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Fatimah Momoh has assured the Forumof Local Government Special Assistants to the Governor of the ministry’s willingness to collaborate with the Forum to bring help to the orphans and less privileged in the State.
The Commissioner, gave the assurance when the Forum of Local Government Special Assistants to Governor paid an advocacy visit to Her Office on Tuesday in Lokoja.
She Stated that their program is inline the Ministry and Governor Ododo’s welfare programs, saying that the Ministry will collaborate with them to ensure that the purpose of the program is achieved.
The Government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo according to Her is passionate about the welfare of the people, saying that the Governor is poised to implement policies that will to alleviate the suffering of the people.
Speaking, the State Chairman of the Forum of Local Government Special Assistants, Comrade. Jafar Aliu Kamarudeen said they were in the Ministry to inform the Commissioner of their program “Governor Ododo Orphans Cara Initiative” which will be flag off on the 25th of January, 2025.
According to him, the program which has a them” Orphans are not alone, Governor Ododo Cares ” is aimed at giving the orphans and the less privileged in the Society a sense of belonging.
Governor Ododo he said has demonstrated severelly through his leadership style that the son of nobody can become the son of somebody, noting that being an orphan should not be a barrier to growth.
He Stated that the Forum has keyed into the welfare programs of the Governor to ensure that orphans have opportunity of growth and educational attainment in Life.
The Forum will distributes School Bags,Books and Food Items to selected Schools across the three Senatorial districts and orphanage homes.
