The Nigerian Export Promotion Council recently hosted the Kogi Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu, for a Capacity Workshop Training aimed at educating exporters in the State.
The workshop focused on the importance of understanding export procedures and documentation in international trade, which is crucial for the efficient movement of goods and services across borders.
During his goodwill message, the Commissioner, represented by the State SME Director, Alh. Yakubu Muhammed, expressed gratitude to stakeholders in Kogi State.
He emphasized the significance of the workshop in providing valuable guidance, insights, and tools to help businesses navigate the complexities of international trade.
As the State SME Director and Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, I am honored to be present here today. NEPC plays a vital role in promoting non-oil exports, and I am confident that this workshop will contribute to enhancing trade practices in the region.
Despite the challenges of inflation affecting market prices in Kogi State, efforts are being made to address these issues and improve the economic landscape.
The State Coordinator, Mr. Usenide Aniekpeno, highlighted the council’s role in facilitating trade transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risks, and building trust between exporters and importers.
He also outlined the various categories of exportable products, including agricultural commodities, solid minerals, manufactured goods, services, and arts & crafts.
Aniekpeno expressed gratitude to all partners for their support in organizing the event and promoting international trade and economic growth in Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.
