In a remarkable show of generosity and commitment to supporting pupils and students, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, has announced a scholarship award of N100,000 per term to two young children who served as models during the recently concluded Takete Ide festival.

The announcement was made in a statement personally released by the Commissioner today, Sunday, 26th October 2025.

The scholarship recipients are Babatunde Richard and Stephen Anuoluwapo, both pupils of Christ Nursery and Primary School, Takete Ide Amuro.

Hon. Fanwo congratulated Richard and Anuoluwapo for their remarkable boldness, confidence, and talent in showcasing and promoting the cultural heritage of Takete Ide Amuro during their Day Festival, despite their young age.

He stated, “From January 2026, these two children will each receive a scholarship of N100,000. They made us proud and helped promote what Takete Ide stands for. We must continue to encourage our children to THINK TAKETE IDE. They will never forget this experience.”

The Commissioner also expressed his appreciation to their parents for supporting the initiative and allowing their children to model for the community. He stressed that Richard and Anuoluwapo have become an important part of the community’s story.

Further emphasizing the gesture, Hon. Fanwo noted that it aligns with the vision of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to ensure that every citizen has access to quality education at very subsidized or even free fees. He commended the Chief Servant for his visionary leadership and his dedication to the happiness of Kogites.
