Insecurity is one of the many monsters facing every developing society accross the globe, which can only take a holistic approach by all stakeholders involved to nip in the bud. In line with this, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu has urged all security agencies in the state to complement the efforts of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in making the state unsafe for criminal elements, ensuring the lives of the people are not used for political gains.

The Deputy Governor made the statement when he received the officers and men of the Nigeria Forest Security Service led by the Deputy Commandant General, Rtd Major Sunday Akpa, at his official residence in Lokoja. Joel Salifu implored them to frustrate all attempts by self-serving politicians from mortgaging the lives of the people in other to instigate the innocent public against the government.

He enjoined officers of the security service to take the fight against insecurity to the hideouts of the criminal elements, saying that the safety of lives and properties of Kogites is non negotiable.

Comrade Joel Salifu said that the present administration is making significant progress in its fight against crime, particularly the several arrest of kidnappers, and the rescue of adoptees accros the state, stating that it is red signal for all purveyors of crime and their collaborators. And expressed the commitment of the present administration to partner with all Security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

He urged the security outfit to keep all their tactics off social media and politicians, to avoid their efforts being sabotaged, while urging those sponsoring insecurity in Kogi East for cheap political gains to desist or be ready to face the law.

Ealier, Rtd. Major Sunday Akpa, the Deputy Commandant General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service said that they had visited to familiarize with the Deputy Governor, and extend their appreciation to the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in their ongoing onslaught against insecurity. He pledged the support of the outfit to the success of the present administration especially as it regards security, while appealing for partnership in more funding, logistics and mobility of the service.
