Earlier today, the new Olu of Ayetoro Gbede, His Royal Highness, Oba Adewunmi Sunday, led members of the Ayetoro Gbede Traditional Council and community leaders on an appreciation visit to the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, at the Government House, Lokoja.
The visit was to express gratitude to the Governor for the confirmation of the appointment of the Kabiyesi and for sending his Deputy, His Excellency, Comrade Joel Salifu, to represent him at the coronation and official presentation of the Staff of Office to the Royal Father.
In his remarks, Governor Ododo congratulated the new Olu of Ayetoro Gbede and urged him to lead with the fear of God, promote peace, and ensure unity among his people. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding and respecting the traditional institution as a vital partner in governance and grassroots development.
In his response, Oba Adewunmi Sunday expressed appreciation to the Governor for his support and for providing purposeful leadership that has strengthened peace and development across the state. He assured the Governor of the unflinching support and cooperation of the Ayetoro Gbede people for the success of his administration.
The event was attended by top government officials, traditional council members, and community leaders from across the state.
