OFFICE OF THE HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE SENSITISES DIRECTORS OF ADMINISTRATION AND ENUMERATORS ON DIGITISATION OF NOMINAL ROLL

The Office of the Head of Civil Service In line with its commitment to strengthening data management and promoting efficiency in the Kogi State Civil Service, has commenced the training and retraining of Directors of Administration and designated Enumerators drawn from all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State.

This training is part of an ongoing reform aimed at transitioning from the traditional analogue method of managing the nominal roll to a fully digitised system, through the deployment of a customised Google Form.

The new platform, when completed, will capture comprehensive staff information to enhance ease of data collection, access, research, and effective workforce planning.

Speaking at the training session, the Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah A. Evinemi, FCA, who was ably represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Administration and Public Services, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, urged participants to approach the exercise with an open and positive mindset.

Having emphasized that the digitisation initiative should not be misconstrued as a screening exercise, he noted that its primary objective is to gather accurate and vital information that will enable the centralisation of civil service data across the State.

According to him, the exercise will provide the Kogi State Government with a robust, reliable, and accessible database of all its workforce, which will in turn, significantly support informed decision-making, policy formulation, manpower planning and service delivery.

During the training, Mr. Baba Daniel, who was in charge of the sensitisation exercise, took participants through a comprehensive and robust practical session on the objectives, processes, and expectations of the digitised nominal roll system, ensuring clarity and understanding among attendees.

Dr. Evinemi further reassured civil servants of the transparency of the process, stressing that the initiative aligns with the State Government’s broader agenda of embracing digital transformation and modern public service administration.

Participants at the training expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely and essential for positioning the Kogi State Civil Service in line with global best practices in public sector management.

The Office of the Head of Civil Service continues to reaffirm its commitment to continuous capacity building, and adoption of innovative solutions that will enhance efficiency, accountability, and professionalism across the State Civil Service.
