The Kogi State Government, through the Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu, has reaffirmed the continued support & welfare of serving Corpers in the State, as four National Youth Service Corps’ members donated eight conference chairs to support meetings at the Ministry.
During the brief presentation which took place at the office of the Commissioner, the NYSC members’ led by Ms. Happiness Njoku, said the gesture was to appreciate the Ministry’s support and love throughout the duration of their service year.
According to Ms. Njoku, “We decided to carry out a little project for the Ministry, and the State to show our appreciation for the love, support, and kindness, since our resumption to the Ministry.”
The Director of Account, Mrs Bosede Micah, appreciated the Corps Members’ thoughtfulness, noting that their act of generosity is rare among today’s youths.
She noted that the act of reciprocity doesn’t go unrewarded and prayed that such love would follow them where ever they go.
Similarly, Director, Cooperatives, Alhaji Tenimu Momoh, lauded the donors for their kindness, adding that “Whatever you spend in kindness, Allah will replace it with more. Givers never lack, and by God’s special grace, you will not lack.”
In the same vein, the Director of Administration, Mr Ejeh Michael, described the Corps Members’ effort as an act that would not go unappreciated, stating that the Ministry is proud of this massive feat, reiterating that it’s not just about the gift alone but the thought itself.
In his own remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Hon. Lamidi Salihu, expressed delight over the presentation, emphasizing that the gesture demonstrated true listening and growth.
“We deeply appreciate you. You’ve proven that you can take initiative on your own, therefore you’ll be selectors of jobs, not job seekers” he said.
He further prayed that God would continue to strengthen the bond of unity and selflessness within the Ministry.
Earlier receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry, Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu commended the Corps Members’ initiative and pledged to maintain a conducive work environment for all serving youths.
“You have shown that when you leave here, you are leaving as changed people. You have demonstrated leadership and the State is indeed proud of your service thus far.” the Commissioner concluded.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment under the Ododo-led administration, to continue to empower youths, strengthen service delivery, and promote a culture that advances the State’s commercial goals whenever such an opportunity arises.
