The Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Dr. Mu'azu Omeiza Musa, alongside his management team, on Thursday, October 10, 2025, joined the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Muyi Aina, and the national monitoring team for Day 5 monitoring and supportive supervision of the ongoing Integrated Measles-Rubella Campaign at Usiodumi, Chikara North, in Kogi Local Government Area. During the visit, Dr. Muyi Aina commended the Kogi State team for their outstanding commitment and coordination in implementing the campaign. He particularly praised the results of the state’s robust community mobilization and awareness efforts. While interacting with caregivers and residents, Dr. Aina noted with satisfaction that there was a high level of awareness and understanding of the importance of the Measles-Rubella vaccination, an encouraging sign of effective sensitization at the grassroots level. In the course of his supervision, Dr. Aina also encountered a young boy in critical condition at the Chikara Primary Health Centre (PHC). Demonstrating compassion and swift leadership, he facilitated the child’s immediate referral to SHIFAAH Hospital for free medical treatment, which has since been successfully administered. The National ED further assured the facility’s staff that the Agency would look into the human resource challenges affecting PHC Chikara and similar facilities across the state, as part of broader efforts to strengthen service delivery and ensure quality healthcare access for all.
