The Acting Chief Medical Director of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, Dr. Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, has announced the commencement of a comprehensive list of advanced endourological and reconstructive surgeries to be performed at the Hospital.
To this end, the hospital has engaged seasoned professionals to carry out these procedures as part of deliberate efforts to boost healthcare service delivery and reduce the challenge of medical tourism.
Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, Dr. Folagbade reiterated the hospital’s commitment to delivering specialized surgical interventions aimed at improving patients expectations and reduce undue referrals outside the state.
According to him, the keyhole surgeries aims to treat conditions that affect the bladder, Prostate, ureters and Kidneys, like prostate enlargement, urethral blockage and stones in the bladder, Ureter and Kidneys.
Dr. Folagbade stressed that the hospital will continue to build on the conducive atmosphere provided by the Chief Servant of the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, in ensuring that quality healthcare is provided to the good people of Kogi State and beyond.
The Acting CMD also commended the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, for his unwavering support and commitment towards strengthening the healthcare system in the state.
He urged residents of the state and surrounding States who are suffering from urological conditions not to hesitate to seek for healthcare at the hospital and access these minimally invasive procedures, adding that Kogi State is set to deliver in all its ramifications, including the health sector.
