In alignment with the goals of Governor Ododo’s administration to ensure that citizens of Kogi State have access to quality healthcare services, the Kogi State Ministry of Health on Friday 15th August 2025 has officially bring to a close the Joint Annual Review (JAR). The initiative, which was supported by key partners, including the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII) and UNICEF, established a robust benchmark for enhanced healthcare inputs in the upcoming year.
The Joint Annual Review took place at the Good Shepherd Hotel in Lokoja. The event availed various agencies and partners within the state’s health sector to present their program achievements and results from the past and the year under review. Participants were also engaged in thorough analysis of their efforts to improve healthcare delivery in kogi state in the years to come.

The Kogi State SWAp Desk Officer, and Convener of the JAR Meeting who disclosed that the major essence of the event is Assessing Progress by evaluating achievements and challenges in the health sector, identifying areas for improvement and best practices.
To determine priority areas for focus, based on analysis and assessment of the health system’s performance.
Tracking progress toward state and national health goals and ensuring accountability and transparency in healthcare resource allocation and utilization.
Encouraging multi-sectoral coordination and partnerships, securing political commitment, and stakeholder engagement to advance Kogi State health priorities and goals.
In the end, ensuring an Improved Health Outcomes for the citizens of our dear state.
