Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of the state’s residents by making significant advancements in the healthcare sector. Building upon the accomplishments of his predecessor, Alh. Yahaya Bello, Governor Ododo has placed a high priority on upgrading essential healthcare infrastructure.
One notable example of this dedication is the revitalization of the Kogi State Central Cold Chain Store. This facility plays a crucial role in storing vaccines for children and women, requiring precise temperature control to ensure their effectiveness. During a recent inspection, Governor Ododo identified a damaged transformer that was causing power supply disruptions, leading to increased costs and jeopardizing the integrity of the vaccines.
In response, Governor Ododo took immediate action to restore uninterrupted power supply to the cold store, ensuring that it operates 24 hours a day. Within a short period of three weeks, the facility was equipped with a 33kva power line and transformer, along with a 60kva solar inverter system. This innovative hybrid power solution has set a new standard for other states, with some already following suit in upgrading their cold chain storage facilities.
Governor Ododo’s proactive approach to addressing healthcare challenges has garnered praise from various stakeholders. His administration’s commitment to enhancing primary care health centers, with a budget exceeding seven billion naira, underscores a clear dedication to improving the well-being of Kogi State residents.
As Governor Ododo continues to drive progress in the healthcare sector, his swift response to critical challenges serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the people of Kogi State
