Asiwaju Idris, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening synergy with the Ministry of Livestock Development in driving revenue generation, job creation, and food security through strategic initiatives that align with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s economic policies Speaking during an interactive technical session with ministries, departments, and agencies, Hon. Idris described the livestock sector as one of the most promising frontiers for growth in Kogi State’s economy. He noted that the Ministry of Livestock Development, recently established by the Ododo administration, represents a bold step toward repositioning agriculture as a major source of internal revenue. “Livestock is a viable ministry capable of generating revenue for the state, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing our ability to execute capital projects,” he stated. According to the Commissioner, the session provided an avenue to review expectations from the ministry, especially from the revenue angle, which remains critical to capital development. “We have discussed some challenges and identified what needs to be done differently to achieve results. It’s a ministry that can even help us earn foreign exchange. Based on what we’ve discussed, we can see clearly what must be done and we will achieve it,” he said. Hon.
