The Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah Evinemi FCA, has applauded the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for organizing the maiden edition of the Aerobic exercise held on Saturday, the 5th day of July, 2025 at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
Dr. Evinemi, who participated in the event, described the initiative as both timely and impactful, noting that it goes beyond improving the overall health of workers.
According to him, it also serves as a morale booster and capable of enhancing productivity and efficiency in the workplace.
He commended the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and the entire Ministry for championing such a laudable programme that promotes physical wellness among the workforce.
The Head of Service also lauded the unwavering commitment of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to the wellbeing of citizens, especially civil servants, through his various people-oriented initiatives and welfare packages, emphasizing that such strides have continued to improve the quality of human life across the state.
Dr. Evinemi charged civil servants to embrace aerobic exercise as a health-worthy initiative with long-term benefits for mental and physical wellbeing, noting that regular fitness activities will build a more vibrant, healthy, and productive workforce.
He noted that the upcoming Civil Service Week will feature a variety of sporting events and recreational activities, stressing that exercises like the aerobic workout will keep civil servants fit and ready to participate actively in the games lined up for the celebration.
The aerobic session attracted civil servants, youth groups, and fitness enthusiasts, and is expected to become a recurring event aimed at reinforcing the administration’s commitment to promoting wellness and a healthier civil service.
In his Speech, the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe disclosed that Kogi State Government is set to renovate the Confluence Stadium as part of efforts to promote sports development in the state.
Hon. Monday Anyebe said the plan for renovation is already underway, with the design phase completed and awaiting final approval to commence work.
Hon. Anyebe assured that the stadium would be remodeled to attract major games, both nationally and internationally.ifuu
