In a strategic move to strengthen security in Kogi State, the Kogi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, today in Government House, Lokoja presented 16 refurbished operational vehicles to security agencies in the State. This initiative is a credit to the governor’s unwavering commitment to building a strong security architecture.

The vehicles were presented by Mrs. Funmilayo Bello, the Director Admin in the Office of the Director General, Government House Administration, who represented the Director General, Alh. Umar Oricha Shaibu. Mrs. Bello emphasized the State Government’s concern for public safety and the welfare of the people, highlighting Governor Ododo’s broader strategy to eradicate insecurity and promote a peaceful environment for conducive growth and development.

The Chairman of the Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Air Vice Marshal Faruk Omeiza (Rtd), praised Governor Ododo for his visionary leadership and support for security agencies in the state. He noted that the refurbished vehicles would enhance the operational effectiveness of security personnel, enabling them to respond rapidly to security threats.

The security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Kogi State Vigilante Service, and the Nigerian Correctional Service, expressed gratitude to the state government for the gesture. They pledged their commitment to partnering with the government to ensure a safer Kogi State.

The chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kogi State, Alh. Seidu Haruna Ademu also thanked Gov Ododo for allowing Kogi indigenes sleep with the two eyes closed, describing his as “God’s sent” to the people of the State.

This initiative is a clear demonstration of Governor Ododo’s dedication to the safety and well-being of Kogi State citizens.
