The Kogi State Government has assured the family of the late photojournalist, Mr. Ayo Aiyepeku, of its unwavering commitment to uncover the full truth behind his gruesome murder and ensure justice is served.

ent issued by the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications on Saturday, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the government expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.

“The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed all relevant security agencies to continue to conduct a thorough investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the murder of Mr. Ayo Aiyepekun, as well as the controversial death by suicide of the prime suspect,” the statement read.

Fanwo emphasized the government’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice.

“Justice may not bring the dead back to life, but it will console the family of the deceased that their son did not die in vain. We owe it to his memory and to the people of Kogi State to ensure that such a heinous act does not go unpunished,” he added.

The Commissioner further urged the general public to remain security conscious and to support ongoing investigations by volunteering credible intelligence to law enforcement authorities.

“The safety and security of our people remain a top priority of the Ododo-led administration. We call on residents to be vigilant and proactive in reporting suspicious activities that could help the police and security agencies in the ongoing investigation,” the statement concluded.

The late Mr. Aiyepekun, a respected photojournalist with Inside Story, was reportedly murdered in Lokoja earlier this week, sparking widespread outrage and calls for swift action.
