A one-day seminar focused on the review of the National Policy on Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) was successfully held in Lokoja, emphasizing the importance of effective implementation of its policies and programs.
During the seminar, Alhaji Muhammed Kadiri Okeji, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), highlighted the critical role that both KEDA and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) play as catalysts for economic growth, transformation, and development. He stressed that collaboration between these agencies is essential for fostering a thriving economy.
Alhaji Okeji urged participants to focus on the seminar’s objectives, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to empower the people of Kogi State and stimulate sustainable growth. He underscored the importance of the seminar as a platform for sharing insights and strategies that can enhance the effectiveness of MSME policies.
In his address, Alhaji Murtal Mohammed, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, represented by Amanyi Michael, Director of SMEs in the Ministry, encouraged attendees to adhere strictly to the seminar’s guidelines and recommendations. He reiterated the significance of the seminar in shaping the future of MSMEs in the region.
