Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun paid a heartfelt condolence visit to Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo at his residence in Okene today, August 21, 2025. The visit came after the 3-day Firdaus prayer for the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.

Speaking during the visit, Prince Dapo Abiodun said, “I am here on behalf of my family and also on behalf of the sixteen other Governors of southern Nigeria to commiserate with His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo over the passing of his father, who God called home after a very ripe age.” He described Governor Ododo as a hardworking, reliable, dependable, and diligent servant leader who has shown commitment to the brotherhood among governors .

Prince Abiodun noted that Governor Ododo’s father lived an impactful life and must have passed on as a fulfilled man, given that his son has assumed an executive office as Governor of Kogi State and is doing well. “On one hand, we commiserate with him on the other hand we celebrate with him because he has survived his father, it is a blessing. He saw his son doing well,” he said.

The Ogun State Governor also commended former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for choosing a worthy successor like Governor Ododo, describing him as an uncommon loyal successor providing good leadership to the people of Kogi State. “We salute Bello for the divine wisdom God gave him to choose a worthy successor like Governor Ododo, who is not embarrassing him but providing good leadership,” he added.

Prince Abiodun prayed that Almighty God grant Pa Ahmed Momohsani Ododo Aljanat Firdaus and also wished journey mercies to those coming on condolence visits.

The condolence visit reveals the strong bonds of camaraderie and mutual support among Nigeria’s governors.
