Hon. John Urah Ikani Convenes Crucial Security Meeting with Security Agencies and Traditional Rulers in Dekina LGA

The Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. John Urah Ikani, convened a pivotal security meeting at the Nigeria Police Area Command Headquarters in Anyigba. The gathering included representatives from the Area Command and traditional rulers from across Dekina LGA, underscoring a unified commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.

During the session, Hon. Ikani commended the unwavering dedication of security agencies and traditional leaders in safeguarding lives and property within the Local Government Area. He assured them of his administration’s full support and collaboration, emphasizing that security remains a top priority under his leadership.

The initiative underscores Hon. Ikani’s proactive approach to addressing security challenges and fostering synergy between the local government, law enforcement agencies, and traditional institutions.

The meeting aligns with Hon. Ikani’s ongoing efforts to engage various stakeholders in enhancing the security architecture of the area. Notably, he has previously held discussions with traditional rulers, including the Ejeh of Dekina, Alhaji Usman Obaje, to strengthen community relations and address local concerns effectively.

In the words of the Council Chairman, “This meeting was called to assess the security situation in the Local Government and foster a strong synergy among security agencies in DeKina Local Government Area with the Police taking the lead.

“Our administration prioritizes security as the bulwark of economic prosperity and development. We can’t have development without security, hence the need to devote our resources to ensuring that every resident of Dekina is safe.

“Let me also commend all our security agencies as well as our local security outfits for the handshake that is gradually returning Dekina Local Government Area to a peaceful haven. We are surely following in the footsteps of the Chief Servant of the State, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo who is winning the battle to keep Kogi safe for all”.

Furthermore, Hon. Ikani has demonstrated his commitment by providing operational vehicles to Vigilante Groups in the Local Government Area, with a view to enhancing the operational capacity of local security operations and ensure a safer environment for all residents.

The collaborative efforts between the Dekina LGA administration, security agencies, and traditional rulers highlight a collective resolve to address security challenges and promote the well-being of the community.
