The newly appointed Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hajiya Fatima Momoh, has urged all ministry staff to prioritize unity as a cornerstone for the ministry’s development. This appeal was made as she assumed her new role following her transfer from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Lokoja.

In her address, Hon. Fatima expressed gratitude to His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the opportunity to serve. She emphasized the importance of fostering a familial atmosphere, encouraging staff to embrace one another and set aside tribal and religious differences. “We are all Kogites. Unity is essential for achieving excellence,” she stated.

The Hon. Commissioner called on the ministry’s management and staff to extend their full cooperation. “Please be proactive. I believe in teamwork. A single tree does not make a forest. I aim to include everyone. Feel free to share your ideas and innovations to help us unlock the cultural potential and values of Kogi State,” Hajiya Momoh added, seeking divine grace and wisdom to elevate the ministry to new heights.

Earlier, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Hauwa Saliu, officially handed over the ministry’s programs and activities to the Hon. Commissioner. She welcomed Hon. Fatima, prayed for divine guidance and direction, and assured her of the staff’s full cooperation and commitment to the ministry’s success.

The Hon. Commissioner toured the various offices with enthusiasm, taking the opportunity to familiarize herself with the management and staff across all departments.
