Over One Thousand, three hundred and Ninety five Corps members serving in Kogi State are to receive twenty thousand Naira each.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo announced this on Friday during the swearing in ceremony of the Twenty Twenty six Batch “A’ stream One Corps members at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Camp, Asaya Kabba.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo said the gesture was to encourage the corps members in facilitating their welfare and to encourage them while staying in Kogi State.

The Governor who was Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe said the present administration is committed to the growth and development of youth in the state and even beyond.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo said his government will reward hardworking Corps members who distinguish themselves during their service year in the state.

The Governor said his government will continue to accord attention to the welfare of serving corps members in the State by supporting their course at all times.

The Governor advised the corps members not to involve themselves in any act that will affect their future during and after their service year in the State.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo also assured them of their safety while in Kogi State, assuring that his government will remain committed to the security of lives and property of the people.

According to the Governor, Kogi State is known for its hospitality and urged them to leave freely during and after their service year in the State.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo enjoined the Corps members to embrace any place of primary assignment assigned them by contributing their quota to the growth and development of Kogi State.

The Governor expressed appreciation to the people of Kogi State for their support to his administration and advised them to continue in their efforts.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo thanked State Coodinator of the NYSC , the Army officials and other security agencies for their quality contribution in the NYSC scheme in the state and restated his commitment to the growth and progress of the scheme in the State.

Also Speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Protocol matters, Hon. Kashim Abdulbasit said with the Governor’s directive, the money should shared immediately to the corps members.

Hon. Kashim Abdulbasit said the gesture was a demonstration of the Governor love for the Youths in the State and beyond, calling on the Corps members to follow the rules and regulations of the camp during their stay.

In a remark, the Kogi State Coodinator of the NYSC, Mr. Femi Osungbohun said what the Kogi State government is expecting from the corps members was to exhibit the highest level of discipline, dedication and commitment in the discharge of their national assignment during and after their service year.

The State Coodinator appealed to all employers of labour to see the Corps members as their children and provide adequate welfare facilities to them to enable them contribute their quota to the transformation of Kogi State.

Mr Femi Osungbohun commended the State Governor for carrying corps members along in the scheme of things, saying the Governor has done well and needed commendation, saying the Corps members were happy with the present administration.

Some of the Corps members while speaking to journalists, thanked Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his fatherly roles by providing them sense of belonging in his government.
