Governor Ododo’s Administration Had Recorded Significant Milestones – Commissioner Fanwo

The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has affirmed that the Government led by His Excellency, the Chief Servant of the State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has made substantial achievements in several sectors of the state’s development over the years in service. Hon. Fanwo made this statement in his office Wednesday, encouraging Information Officers to intensify their efforts in publicizing accomplishments to citizens and beyond, while also urging them to demonstrate greater commitment and hardwork to their responsibilities. During the meeting, he stressed the importance of properly documenting and promoting the government’s developmental activities through professional communication. According to him, the present administration has recorded significant milestones in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and other key sectors. He observed, however, that many of these achievements have not received adequate publicity. The Commissioner further emphasized that “As Information Officers, we have the responsibility to ensure that the people are well informed about the progress being made within the state. Our role is to present the accurate narrative of our state and the leadership guiding it. Fanwo further highlighted the critical place of information dissemination in effective governance, while also encouraging officers to strategically utilize various communication channels to showcase government initiatives, policies, and projects that are aimed at improving the lives of citizens. Hon. Fanwo made this statement in his office Wednesday, encouraging Information Officers to intensify their efforts in publicizing accomplishments to citizens and beyond, while also urging them to demonstrate greater commitment and hardwork to their responsibilities.

During the meeting, he stressed the importance of properly documenting and promoting the government’s developmental activities through professional communication.

While praising the Governor’s style of leadership, Hon. Fanwo described him as a focused and visionary leader who is more concerned with delivering results that positively impact the lives of the people of kogi state.

In a separate remark, the Director of Information Services, Mall. Seidu, commended the Commissioner for fostering a leadership approach that encourages hardwork, participation, cooperation and improved performance among staff members in the ministry, further advising information officers to communicate with integrity and accuracy.

Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, who currently works as Technical Assistant to the Ministry, also advised Information Officers to remain proactive and committed to their duties, emphasizing that every officer contributes to shaping the reputation and public perception of Kogi State.

He encouraged them to continually highlight stories that reflect development, responsible leadership, and effective governance within the state.

To further motivate excellence among Information Officers, the Ministry recognized the performance of some information officers normally known as the “Ododo Media Award.”

The initiative, which is reflective of the Ododo Administration, is intended to appreciate and encourage outstanding contributions from information officers in each consecutive month.

For the month of March, 2026 the recipients of the award were:

1st Position – Mr. Rotimi Odofin

2nd Position – Mr Abah Benjamin

3rd Position – Mrs. Nneka Owunna

Responding on behalf of the award recipients, Mrs. Nneka Owunna expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner and the Ministry’s management for acknowledging their efforts.

She assured them that the recognition would further inspire dedication and commitment in carrying out their professional duties for the benefit of the state.
