Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with the World Bank Group to drive development projects in key sectors of the state’s economy.

During a recent visit to the new Country Director of the World Bank Group in Nigeria, Dr. Ndiame Diop, at the Bank’s office in Abuja, Governor Ododo highlighted the need for expanded cooperation in critical areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.

This collaboration he said is aimed to bolster the overall social and economic development of Kogi State.

Governor Ododo also advocated for a programmatic approach to all World Bank interventions, aligning with the state’s 30-year Development Agenda of shared hope and prosperity.

According to the Governor the strategic alignment will ensure better coordination of projects and programs within the state.

Accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Ali Bello, commissioners, and senior government officials, Governor Ododo’s engagement with the World Bank marks a significant milestone.

Dr. Ndiame Diop, the new World Bank Country Director, expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation and partnership with the Kogi State government.

He affirmed his dedication to working closely with Governor Ododo to expedite the implementation of ongoing World Bank projects and programs in the state.

He is the first state governor in Nigeria to initiate such a high-level dialogue with the World Bank under the new Country Director’s leadership.
