Governor Ododo Redeploys Deedat as Commissioner for Works, Appoints Abdullahi Bello for Local Government Affairs

  Lokoja, April 2, 2026 Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ododo, FCA, has approved the redeployment of Barrister Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat as the new Commissioner for Works, following the resignation of Engr. Mohammed Ahoyi Yusuf from the position. Barr. Deedat previously served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs before his redeployment. In a related development, the Governor has also approved the appointment of Alhaji Abdullahi Bello as Commissioner-designate for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, subject to the necessary legislative confirmation. In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D said the Chief Servant expressed appreciation to Engr. Mohammed Ahoyi Yusuf for his dedicated service to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours. The Governor also congratulated the Commissioner-designate, urging him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the effective management of the ministry and the advancement of governance at the grassroots level.
