The administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has made a significant commitment to the advancement of education in Kogi State. This commitment is evident through the high-quality infrastructure projects underway at Kogi State University in Kabba and Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara. Numerous construction projects are currently in progress at these state-owned tertiary institutions, with several buildings inaugurated and completed within the first year of his administration. Many more projects are at various stages of development, showcasing rapid engineering efforts across the campuses.
During a recent visit to the university campus in Kabba, the state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Taiye Abanika, highlighted these extensive construction efforts as a clear indication of the governor’s dedication to educational development in the state. He emphasized that the administration is committed to providing suitable office accommodations and essential infrastructure to ensure the comfort, safety, and convenience of both students and staff.
Abanika noted that the growth and development of these institutions are central to the governor’s vision of creating a conducive learning environment. Governor Ododo has demonstrated unwavering commitment to enhancing the educational landscape of Kogi State, working diligently to establish a high-quality educational system within these institutions. The facilities being developed are crucial for supporting the academic pursuits of students.

In a interview regarding the ongoing rapid infrastructural development at Kogi State University, Kabba, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kenhinde Temitope Eniola, expressed his enthusiasm for the newly delivered quality infrastructures. He stated that these advancements position the university to soar to new heights, surpassing previous achievements.
With the expansion of the institution’s capacity through the addition of new classroom blocks, Professor Eniola emphasized that the upgraded library facilities will significantly enhance students’ access to quality reading materials and essential library services. Furthermore, the construction of a larger administrative building will streamline operations, ensuring that tasks are executed efficiently.
Professor Eniola also acknowledged the university community’s deep appreciation for the governor’s commitment to the progressive welfare of both students and staff. He assured stakeholders that his administration is dedicated not only to maintaining these infrastructures but also to enhancing the value of each facility, thereby fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence and personal growth.
