Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has congratulated Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd) on his reappointment as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), describing the decision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as “heartwarming, exemplary, and richly deserved.”

In a congratulatory message personally signed by the Governor, Ododo praised Marwa’s leadership, courage, and transformational impact on the NDLEA, noting that his reappointment reflects the immense confidence President Tinubu has in his proven capacity and remarkable record of achievements.

The Governor lauded Marwa’s “exceptional discipline, vision, and unwavering commitment” to protecting the nation from the menace of illicit drugs, adding that his tenure has repositioned the NDLEA into a proactive, respected, and results-driven institution.

“Over the years, you have demonstrated uncommon courage and dedication to safeguarding our country. Nigeria is safer because of the professionalism and sacrifices you and your team continue to make,” Governor Ododo stated.

He also commended President Tinubu for what he described as “a thoughtful and patriotic decision,” affirming that the reappointment underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening national security and enhancing the war against drug abuse and trafficking.

Reiterating Kogi State’s support for the Agency, Governor Ododo pledged the readiness of his administration to partner with the NDLEA in boosting drug prevention, enforcement, and rehabilitation efforts across the country.

The Governor expressed confidence that Marwa’s renewed mandate will usher in greater milestones for Nigeria’s drug control system.
