Gov Ododo Receives Prince Olusoji into APC

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday attended the official reception ceremony of Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, who formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The event took place at the Anglican Science Secondary School, Iyara, in Ijumu Local Government Area.

In his address, Governor Ododo described Prince Olusoji as a leader of integrity, compassion, and unwavering service to humanity, commending his sustained support for widows, artisans, students, and local communities through various empowerment initiatives.

Governor Ododo noted that Prince Olusoji’s decision to join the APC represents a strong endorsement of the State Government’s development-driven agenda. He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership, stressing that the ongoing national reforms are repositioning the country for sustainable growth.

The governor further assured residents that more developmental projects would commence across Kogi State beginning in January 2026.
He also commended party leaders at all levels, reaffirming that the APC remains a platform anchored on development, inclusiveness, and responsible leadership.

In his remarks, Asiwaju Prince Olusoji thanked Governor Ododo for the warm reception and display of humility, pledging his total loyalty and support to the administration, which he described as all-embracing and devoid of discrimination.

Also speaking, APC State Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, praised Prince Olusoji for his long-standing contributions to unity and development in Ijumu and across Kogi State.
He highlighted the new APC member’s generosity and humility, referencing the empowerment package unveiled at the event, which included a motorcycle for the ward chairman and various forms of support extended to all 15 wards in the Local Government Area.
