In a meeting of the Kogi State Executive Council, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the development and progress of the state. The meeting, held on Friday, August 8, 2025, saw the approval of several landmark projects that will transform the state’s infrastructure, education, and healthcare sectors.
In his remarks, Governor Ododo commended members of the State Executive Council for their steadfast support, charging them to redouble their efforts in serving the people. Saying, We are committed to fulfilling our campaign promises and meeting the aspirations of the Kogi people,
The Council approved several projects, including the construction of hostels for medical students at the Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital, Okene, and Staff Quarters for Doctors at the same hospital. The Council also approved the completion of the Faculty of Engineering building at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, and the supply of furniture for students.
Hon. Abanika Taiye, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, revealed that most of the fencing and housing projects across institutions of learning in the state have reached over 90% completion. “We have also provided security gadgets to enhance safety in these institutions,” he said.
He also revealed that Council approved the construction of a new Treasury House
According to him, Council also approved the rehabilitation of the Ohimege of Koton-Karfe Palace in Kogi Local Government Area.
The Council’s approvals demonstrate the administration’s commitment to providing world-class facilities for students and supporting Traditional Institutions in the state .
The renovation of the Commissioner of Police’s official quarters in Lokoja is a testament to the administration’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of security personnel.
Governor Ododo reaffirmed his unwavering support for the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. He acknowledged the President’s efforts in empowering sub-nationals to meet their obligations to the people and expressed the commitment of Kogi State to support his re-election in 2027.
With these approvals, Kogi State is poised to experience significant growth and development. Governor Ododo’s leadership and vision are driving the state towards a brighter future, and the people of Kogi State have much to look forward to come 2027.
